The Mornington Peninsula is home to the "Rose Garden of International Importance", the Mornington Botanic Rose Gardens.

It is located in the Civic Reserve on Dunns Road Mornington, at the entrance to the Main Street shopping district. The Rose Garden is located between the Mornington Peninsula Regional Gallery and the community-based Oak Hill Gallery. It has over 4,000 roses planted in over 100 raised beds and is surrounded by a border of native Australian trees and shrubs, not to mention a vast expanse of open spaces and grassy areas. The garden was built and maintained by volunteers, generous donations from well wishers and with the support of Mornington Peninsula Shire Council. Why not host your next celebration in the beautiful Mornington Rose Garden? Visit, stroll, soak up the peaceful atmosphere of the gardens and enjoy the day. volunteers are always needed to keep this beautiful garden in the best shape for local and international visitors. Volunteers can choose to attend on a Monday, Tuesday, or Thursday morning. Please use the contact details to participate. The garden is open seven days a week and admission is free.
