Description
Mossman Gorge is one of the most popular attractions in the Daintree National Park, located in Mossman, Queensland.
The crystal-clear water cascades over large granite boulders in the Mossman River. Lush rainforests cover the steep mountainsides from the riverbanks up to the rugged eastern slopes of the Main Coast Range.
The Mossman Gorge Centre operates electric shuttle buses daily from 8 am–6 pm, every 15 minutes, transporting visitors two kilometres to the Mossman Gorge car park. Walking tracks start from the Gorge car park, and from there, guests can begin their adventure through the rainforest.
Visitors can take an easy 10-minute stroll along the elevated boardwalk that meanders through the lower rainforest. The boardwalk provides spectacular views of the valley below, and visitors can also observe the flora and fauna of the rainforest canopy from the numerous small lookouts along the way. Those hoping for a more adventurous experience can cross the Rex Creek suspension bridge and embark on the 2.4 kilometre Rainforest Circuit Track through the lush rainforest.
Mossman Gorge is home to unique and diverse wildlife, including bright butterflies and well-camouflaged Boyd's forest dragons clinging to tree trunks.
Mossman Gorge is a must-visit attraction for anyone
