Mt O'Brien

Mt O'brien Wongan Hills is a scenic hiking trail located at 469 meters above sea level.

It offers beautiful views and is suitable for both summit seekers and those looking for a challenging hike. The trail starts from Scotchmans Creek near Lilydale-Warburton Rail Trail and passes through historic landmarks like Dolly Grey Park. Climbing the summit provides breathtaking views of the valley. After passing under the north side of the summit, walkers can either choose a shorter run back to town or continue for an extra 3km to explore Old Warburton. The best time to visit is during spring and autumn, while it is not recommended during summer due to high temperatures and the risk of bushfires. Mt O'brien Wongan Hills can be accessed by car or public transport, with Warburton being the best route by car and Lilydale station being the nearest train station. Don't forget to bring water, sunscreen, and sturdy hiking shoes for this scenic adventure.
