Description
Mushroom Reef Marine Sanctuary in Flinders, located on the Mornington Peninsula, is an 80ha park that protects the unique marine life of the area.
The park is named after its iconic mushroom-shaped reef formed from ancient basalt.
The park's sandstone rock platforms provide the perfect opportunity to explore the diverse marine life of the region. On the ocean side, visitors can explore shallow reefs and rock pools that are home to a variety of creatures, including cushion seastars, snails, anemones, and crabs. Scientists and researchers have been attracted to Mushroom Reef Marine Sanctuary for over 100 years.

It is important to note that conditions in parks can change rapidly, so it's recommended to check for updates before visiting.
During periods of high fire danger, it is crucial to be bushfire ready if planning to visit the park.
