Visit the Myponga Reservoir Reserve, located near the township of Myponga on the stunning Fleurieu Peninsula.
The reserve features a lookout that offers a stunning view of the reservoir, the dam wall and its spillway. Additionally, it has walking and running trails ideal for families, along with picnic areas, fishing spots, and water activities. Free car parking and toilet facilities are available.
The Myponga Reservoir Reserve offers a wide range of activities for visitors to enjoy. Take in the scenic surroundings from the lookout located above the Myponga dam wall on the western side of the reservoir. The walking and running trails located within the reserve have ample space for families to enjoy a picnic, and the shoreline offers an ideal spot for fishing. Visitors can also take advantage of the water activities by bringing their own canoe or kayak to explore the 250 hectares of water and do some fishing.
The Myponga Reservoir Reserve is open from 7.30am to 5 pm (standard time) and from 7.30 am to 8pm (daylight saving time). The reserve is closed on Total Fire Ban Days and for operational activity. On these days, the gates will be closed, and visitors will not be able to access the reserve.
The Myponga Reservoir Reserve is approximately an hour’s drive from Adelaide. Visitors can drive from Adelaide and take the Southern Expressway towards the Fleurieu Peninsula. The Fleurieu Peninsula is approximately 40 km south of Adelaide. Once at the peninsula, drive to the township of Myponga, and the reserve is located nearby.
