No. 58 Cellar Door & Gallery

No.58 Cellar Door & Gallery is situated on the grounds of the historic Waverley Estate on Waterport Road in the seaside town of Port Elliot, South Australia.

The team behind Waverley Estate and Thunderbird Pt Elliot designed and decorated No.58 themselves taking care not to intrude on the historic nature of the property. This unique cellar door provides the opportunity to sample the wines of the Southern Fleurieus' best wine producer, Thunderbird.

The cellar door has ample seating including long tables inside for groups, choose to sit outside on the deck, overlooking the vines or relax on a picnic blanket and bean bags on the lawns under the shade of the big beautiful gum tree.

The Vineyards were planted around 1999 on mainly Sandy Loam soil over Limestone just above Bashams Beach and at Waverley Estate, Pt Elliot in the Southern Fleurieu Peninsula region, originally under contract to a boutique Adelaide Hills winemaker.

Thunderbird Wines is now operating under its own label, with retail sales and tastings from its new purpose built cellar door at No. 58 Cellar Door & Gallery, 58 Waterport Rd Pt Elliot, in the grounds of historic Waverley Estate c1856. They specialise in hand made small batch wine-making with an emphasis on ensuring that quality is maintained through our hands on approach to every step of the process, from the vineyard through to the bottle.

Along with the wines and comprehensive café, No.58 also includes an elegant art gallery featuring work from local and regional creatives.
