Description
North Head Walking Track in New Brighton is a short and easy trail that takes you through an endangered littoral rainforest to the mouth of Brunswick River.
It offers a change of scenery and the chance to spot wildlife such as goannas and carpet pythons. Birdwatchers will enjoy the variety of feathered friends, including rainbow bee-eaters. The trail is easily navigable and suitable for families, young kids, and elderly visitors. Additionally, there are two other short tracks that lead to the ocean beach and Marshalls Creek. The best time to visit is during the warmer months when the rainbow bee-eaters are in residence. The track is located in New Brighton and can be accessed from the North Head car park, which is a 30-minute drive from Gold Coast and an hour and a half's drive from Brisbane. The Gold Coast Airport is the nearest airport, and there is a bus stop near the car park.
