Description
The Nymboida River is a perennial stream in New South Wales, Australia.
It flows over 165 kilometers from the Barren Mountain to the Mann River, passing through the Nymboida National Park. The river is fed by nine tributaries and benefits from high rainfall on the Dorrigo Plateau, resulting in strong river flows. A 27-kilometer section of the river in the Nymboi-Binderay National Park offers exciting kayaking and white water rafting opportunities. Natural features along the river include Rob Roys Falls and The Silent Pool, a geological mystery. The Nymboida River is known for being a habitat for the endangered Eastern Freshwater cod. While the hydro-electric power station on the river no longer operates, visitors can still enjoy organized rafting trips on the river.
