It is listed as a category one building on the Historic Places Trust Register, reflecting its national significance. The hotel has won the World Luxury Hotel 2016 & 2017 awards in the Historical Hotel category for the Australasia and Oceania region.

The hotel offers suite-only accommodation with one, two, and three-bedroom suites, which are fully self-contained apartments.
