Chalet Backpackers

Chalet Backpackers is a hostel located in Dunedin, New Zealand.

Originally a hospital built in 1904, it was converted into a hostel in 1991. The hostel offers a variety of private and shared rooms, including single, double, twin, and 4-8 bed shared dormitories. All rooms include hotel quality mattresses with bedding, heating, and room keys. The building has ample bathroom facilities and a large laundry due to its previous use as a hospital. Currently, the hostel is undergoing room-by-room renovations in-keeping with its heritage colors.

The building boasts an impressive appearance and offers stunning views over the city and harbor. It is conveniently located near several popular attractions, such as Dunedin Casino, NZSG Dunedin Research, Dunedin Public Art Gallery, Toitu Otago Settlers Museum, The Octagon, and Dunedin Railway Station.
