Puheke Lookout is a popular destination on the Karikari Peninsula in Northland, New Zealand. To get there, take Puheke Road and continue to the parking area at the beach along the unsealed road. The lookout can be reached by a 20-minute climb from the road. The hike to the lookout is considered an easy route, and the climb to the viewpoint from the road takes only 20 minutes. Parts of the track are not as obvious to follow than other tracks in New Zealand, so make sure you follow the orange markers.

Puheke Lookout offers stunning views of the Karikari Peninsula and below it a beautiful white sandy beach with waves perfect for boogie boarding. Rising 130m (426.5ft) above sea level, you'll get incredible views, especially of the 18km (11-mile)-long Tokerau Beach. The lookout provides a panoramic view of the surrounding area, including Matai Bay and Waikato Bay.

The Puheke Hill Hike is a 0.7-mile out-and-back trail near Awanui, Northland, which takes an average of 16 minutes to complete. The trail is generally considered an easy route. The Taumarumaru Scenic Reserve is another easy 40-minute loop walk that takes you around the reserve famous for holding three Maori pa sites.
