Description

Located in the Dharawal National Park, just south of Campbelltown, the O'Hares Creek Lookout Walking Track is the perfect location for a quick getaway.

This flat and easy family-friendly walk is set in pristine bushland, giving you the opportunity to enjoy a breath of fresh air and birdwatching opportunities while taking in the scenic gorge views once you reach the end.

Taking a flat bitumen track, you can pass through open woodland full of tall scribbly gums and red bloodwoods. This easy walk will take you to O'Hares Creek lookout, where you’ll discover deep gorges and a rugged landscape carved from Hawkesbury sandstone.

Spring is an ideal time to visit this walking track, as the windswept heathland will be bursting with colours that attract nectar-loving birds such as the New Holland Honeyeater. You could bring along your camera to capture these moments, and a sandwich. If you’ve worked up an appetite, you can find the perfect spot on one of the lookout points to enjoy a light lunch while taking in the scenic views.

The track is flat and well-maintained, making it accessible to almost all visitors. You can bring your family, young children or the elderly to safely explore the natural surroundings.

The walking track is located in the Dharawal National Park, along Wedderburn Road, 8 km east of Campbelltown. You can access it through several points along the park road. If you’re traveling by car, there is parking available along the side of the road at the entrance of the walking track.
