Located in the southern reaches of the Royal National Park, near Otford, Palm Jungle Loop Track is an exciting track that offers a blend of unique experiences.
The 10km loop meanders through beaches, cliff tops, and coastal rainforests, providing adventuresome bushwalkers with breathtaking ocean views and a great spot for a refreshing swim.
The track leads through towering forests of gums and graceful angophoras at Garawarra Farm before descending down the steep Burgh Ridge. Along the way, walkers can stop and absorb the brilliant panoramic views along the dramatic coastline. As you join The Coast track, you'll see historic beach shacks and pass Burning Palms beach; which is a great spot for a refreshing dip and scenic picnic lunch.
The track then moves through a jungle of lush palms to Werrong lookout, which is a rocky outcrop that offers magnificent views of the landscape. From the track junction, walkers can take a right through shady woodlands back to your car or turn left towards Otford.
The best time to visit the Palm Jungle Loop Track is during the warmer months when the weather is suitable for outdoor activities like swimming and hiking. It's an ideal destination for daytime trips or for those who want to explore the wilderness for the day.
Palm Jungle Loop Track is accessible via public transportation or by car. To get there from Sydney’s CBD, head south on the Princes Highway and turn left into Lady Wakehurst Drive. Follow the road through the Royal National Park until you reach the turnoff for Garawarra Farm on the left. The track can be found at the end of Garawarra Farm Road.
