The snorkel trail at Parker Point takes you on a journey through an underwater wonderland, where you will come across amazing rock formations, a diverse range of colourful corals, and exquisite marine creatures. Expect to see schools of butterflyfish, silver drummer, many species of starfish, as well as sea urchins and various other crustaceans. On a lucky day, you will be joined by majestic sea turtles as well as playful seals.
The Parker Point Marine Snorkel Trail is open to visitors all year round, but the island is most popular in the summer months, between November and April. During this period, the water temperature is warmer and the weather is delightful, making it perfect for a snorkelling adventure. It is also recommended to go during high tide to experience Parker Point at its best.
Getting to Parker Point is easy – visitors can access the location by bus or bicycle. The Island Explorer passes Parker Point every 30 minutes between 9 am and 5 pm. Bicycles can be hired from the visitor centre, and it takes around 20 minutes to cycle to the snorkelling location from the main settlement.
