Percy Treyvaud Reserve

Percy Treyvaud Reserve Malvern is a community sports facility and park located in the suburb of Malvern East in Melbourne, Australia.

The facility is part of the Percy Treyvaud Memorial Park masterplan, which aims to deliver new community sports facilities and park improvements. The construction of the facility is expected to take approximately two years and will include various facilities such as indoor courts, lawn bowls facilities, tennis courts, shared administration and social spaces, and improved ovals.

The new indoor sports facility will have four courts that meet the guidelines of Netball Victoria and Basketball Victoria. It will accommodate basketball and netball, with spectator seating, scorer and team benches, and sound-absorbing treatment. The facility will also include change rooms and storage facilities. Additionally, there will be new lawn bowls facilities with seating, shelters, shade sail shelter, and lighting for night bowling. Seven new tennis courts, including synthetic clay and plexipave courts with lighting, will be available for night tennis. The facility will also have shared administration and social spaces, including reception areas, offices, meeting spaces, kitchen, toilets, and designated social spaces. Improved viewing areas, change rooms, and storage facilities will be provided for the Chadstone Lacrosse Club and East Malvern Tooronga Cricket Club.

The need for new sports facilities is evident, as basketball and netball are among the most popular sports among children in Australia. The City of Stonnington currently lacks sufficient indoor courts for these sports, with only two for netball and none for basketball, while 13 are needed to support the population. The new indoor facility will address this issue and provide more women and girls with access to modern, safe, welcoming, and inclusive sports facilities.
