Description

Located near Eden on the beautiful Sapphire Coast of New South Wales, is the stunningly scenic Ben Boyd National Park.

From swimming to snorkeling, visitors have a wide range of activities that can be enjoyed here. The Pinnacles Loop Walking Track is a 1.1 km undulating trail through eucalypt and pine forest as well as heathland that is a popular choice for many visitors.

One of the most significant attractions of the loop is the breathtaking coastal views from several lookouts. These overlook the Pacific Ocean and offer vistas to Lennards Island in the south and Haycock Point in the north. If you visit between July and November, you'll have an enhanced chance to spot whales dancing with dolphins offshore.

The well-known Pinnacles rock formation is another major attraction of the loop. It is a stunning erosion feature, which is composed of cliffs of soft white sand covered with a layer of red gravel clay. The Tertiary geological period, which witnessed the beginning of the dinosaur extinction, created this mesmerizing attraction some 65 million years ago.

The Pinnacles Loop Walking Trail is a must experience for walkers, hikers, or for people just looking for a picturesque day in nature. The trail is open all year round. The park is located on the southern side of the Princes Highway, about eight kilometers east of the town of Eden. Several signposted access roads provide entry points to the park.

Pinnacles Loop Walking Track offers visitors an exciting adventure, with a front row seat to Australia’s stunning and diverse natural beauty. Experience the trail’s oceanic views, learn about the park’s history, witness its rock formations, and enjoy an unforgettable day amidst the fabulous flora & fauna.
