Tourist attractions

South Perth, WA 6151

Description

Point Belches is a small, scenic point on Swan River in Western Australia.

It is located approximately 250 meters east of The Narrows, within the region known as Perth Water. Captain James Stirling discovered Point Belches during the Swan River Expedition in 1827 and named it after Peter Belches, a member of the exploring party. Originally, Point Belches referred to the entire peninsula, but now it only refers to a small feature on the eastern side. Point Belches is now part of the South Perth Esplanade and is used as a commercial water skiing area. Visitors can access Point Belches by taking a stroll down the South Perth Foreshore and enjoy the beautiful views or partake in water skiing.
