One of Australia’s Top 100 Gourmet Experiences - Margaret River Providore -has expanded its operations into the historic Swan Valley with a brand new tasting centre opening this week.
Established in Margaret River in 2005, the original Providore combines an organic olive grove, orchard and vegetable gardens, large free range chicken pen and expansive vineyards. In 2011 it was named as one of Australia’s Top 100 Gourmet Experiences by Australian Traveller magazine and more recently hosted an episode of the hit reality TV series My Kitchen Rules.
Providore in the Swan Valley is housed in a spectacular, purpose built facility alongside its sister-business, The Margaret River Chocolate Company, on West Swan Road.
Providore co-owner Patrick Coward said it was a very exciting time for the business as it continued to expand and grow its product range to meet customer demand.
He said as part of the group's expansion both the Margaret River and Swan Valley Providores would now feature specific food tasting counters for staff to talk about food ideas and explain how to use the exciting and unusual ingredients available.
“Both sites will offer wine tasting for our Coward & Black range of wines which include wines from our Swan Valley vineyard and our delicious Sambarino chocolate liqueur,” Mr Coward said.
“Feedback from our original Margaret River business indicated that customers were very interested in food options they could recreate at home and that’s what we will also provide at the Swan Valley.”
Mr Coward said the spectacular timber and stone Providore building in the Swan Valley was designed by award winning Perth architect Joe Chindarsi, who also designed the original Margaret River Providore.
Located on the same rural property as The Margaret River Chocolate Company it has its own vineyard and will offer sales and tastings of the full Providore and Coward & Black ranges.
The brand new facility will be open every day from 9am to 5pm and offer a variety of free wine, chocolate liqueur and food tastings.
