The Society was founded in 1970 with the aim of preserving and recording the Shire's history, including objects, photos and archival material. The main collection is housed in a purpose built facility on Morgans Street and in the original and renovated Dance Cottage. Displays are arranged by topics and recorded on the Mosaic™ database.
