Description
The Rubicon Falls Walk Rubicon is a scenic hiking trail in the Rubicon Valley Historic Area.
It starts at the Rubicon Hydro Power Station and follows the service access track on the right-hand side of the station. The trail takes you 3.7 km up the Rubicon River Road, offering stunning views of the valley and passing the Rubicon Falls Power Station. As you walk higher up the road, you can catch glimpses of the 40m high Rubicon Falls from the elevated roadside terrain.
If you want to extend your hike, you can continue up the road to the Rubicon Falls Dam or do the circuit to the Royston Power Station and the 15,000 ft Siphon Bridge. This longer walk allows you to enjoy more spectacular views of the valley and immerse yourself in nature.
The best time to visit the Rubicon Falls Walk is during summer or autumn to avoid harsh weather conditions.
To get to the Rubicon Falls Walk Rubicon, you can drive from Melbourne via the Maroondah Highway to Alexandra, then to Eildon, and follow the signs to the Rubicon Hydro Power Station. Once you arrive, you can park your vehicle and begin your hike.
