The two-kilometre pristine strip of sand is ideal for swimming and relaxation, with a beautiful view of Victor Island just one kilometre offshore. Accommodation is available at the southern end of Salonika Beach, along with a licensed restaurant serving delicious food. Nature lovers can also witness rare sightings of loggerhead turtles, echidnas, and seasonal whales and dolphins. Salonika Beach is an excellent starting point to explore Hay Point and the Dalrymple Bay Coal Terminal Complex, the largest coal export facility in the Southern Hemisphere. Visitors can enjoy the pleasant tropical climate all year round, with the winter season offering the driest weather and December through February providing the perfect weather for a summer beach experience. Salonika Beach is easily accessible, located 45km south of Mackay and only a 15-minute drive from Sarina. Train and bus services are available, as well as car rentals, with ample parking at the beach.
