Description

Scammells Ridge Lookout is a scenic destination within Kosciuszko National Park, offering breathtaking views and diverse wildlife.

Standing at 1000m high, the lookout provides outstanding scenic views over Western Fall wilderness and Main Range, including Mount Abbott, Mount Townsend, and Carruthers Peak. Birdwatchers can spot gang gang cockatoos, crimson rosellas, king parrots, and lyrebirds in the surrounding mountain gums. The lookout area also offers picnic tables and toilets for convenience. Scammells Ridge Lookout can be visited year-round, but is especially beautiful during winter and spring when the mountain peaks are snow-capped. It is located along the Alpine Way, just a short drive south of Khancoban Visitor Centre.
