Description

Scotland Island is an island and suburb located in Pittwater, off Church Point, on the Northern Beaches of Sydney, in the state of New South Wales, Australia.

It is one of two inhabited islands in the Sydney area and is accessed by the Church Point Ferry and private vessels. According to the Australian Bureau of Statistics, the island is home to 642 residents. The island is approximately 1 km in diameter, and its highest point is over 100 meters above sea level. To the east is the suburb of Newport, west is Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park, and south are the suburbs of Church Point and Bayview.

Scotland Island is a refuge for natural forests, bushland reserves, and native animals, and visitors love the shimmering water and gentle pace. Most of the island consists of bushland, with a residential zone of approximately 350 houses around the perimeter foreshore. There are no shops, cafes, or public toilets on Scotland Island. Some popular spots on the island include Salvation Creek, a popular spot for swimming and picnicking located on the western side of the island, and the Boat Ramp, located on the eastern side of the island, which provides easy access to the water for boating and fishing.
