Seal Rocks

Seal Rocks is a pair of small islets named Seal Rock and Black Rock, located 1.5 kilometers southwest of Phillip Island in Victoria, Australia.

They were given the name Seal Islands by James Grant of HMS Lady Nelson in January 1801.

The islands are home to a significant colony of Australian Fur Seals. Seal Rocks is a major breeding ground, with approximately 5000 pups born there annually, which accounts for 25% of the Australian population. Visitors to the site can expect to spot the seals swimming, sunbathing on the rocks, and generally going about their daily activities. The islands are a protected breeding ground, and visitors are reminded to respect the animals' space and avoid disturbing them in any way.

Seal Rocks can be accessed via boat tours that run from nearby towns, such as Cowes and San Remo. Alternatively, visitors can charter their vessels to get a more personalized tour. It's essential to note that the islands are not open to the public, and landing on the rocks is strictly prohibited.
