Description

Shailer Pioneer Park is a tranquil and serene park located in the suburb of Shailer Park, City of Logan Queensland, Australia.

Surrounded by middle-class residential areas and stretching over hilly terrain, the park offers well-maintained gardens and numerous recreational opportunities. It is easily accessible and just a few kilometers away from the Logan Hyperdome, a major regional shopping center.

The park is named after Francis Frederick Rising Shailer and his wife, Catherine, who arrived in the area in 1866. The Shailer family operated the first citrus orchard in southern Queensland and the land on which the park sits was once part of their farming area. Shailer Pioneer Park was officially opened in September 1988 to commemorate the Shailer family's contributions to Queensland and the region of Logan.

Shailer Park has excellent education facilities, including Shailer Park State School and Kimberley Park State School, which are highly reputed government primary schools. Shailer Park State High School is a government secondary school that caters to students from Year 7 to Year 12.
