Description

Snowy River National Park is a sprawling 98,700-hectare (244,000-acre) park located in the Alpine and East Gippsland regions of Victoria, Australia.

It was declared a national park in 1979 and added to the Australian National Heritage List in 2008. The park has a rich history, being home to the Kruatungulung group of the Kurnai Aborigines and later used by cattlemen and miners.

The park primarily consists of wilderness areas, including the impressive Little River Gorge, Victoria's deepest gorge. Wildlife enthusiasts will find a diverse range of species, including rare and threatened ones such as the long-footed potoroo and brush-tailed rock wallaby. Outdoor activities abound in the park, with opportunities for hiking, canoeing, and rafting. McKillops Bridge is a popular camping site that offers swimming, canoeing, and rafting through the rugged gorges downstream.

Snowy River National Park is located near other national parks and coastal parks, making it an ideal destination for extended vacations. Experience the beauty and tranquility of Snowy River National Park, a perfect natural getaway.
