Description

Southside Beach is a legally designated clothing-optional beach near Torquay, Victoria.

It is a natural surf beach accessible via a 30 minutes' drive from Geelong. The beach is governed under the Nudity (Prescribed Areas) Act 1983, allowing visitors to enjoy the unique experience of the natural landscape.

When accessing the beach, visitors should be cautious as signs on either side of the beach are frequently vandalized or stolen. The beach strip is narrow during high tide, so visitors need to be careful when selecting a spot. It is important to note that there are no lifesavers patrolling the beach at any time.

Southside Beach is located southwest of Bells Beach and northeast of Point Addis. Visitors can access the beach through a long and steep walk from the westernmost car park at Bells Beach or via a staircase from Point Addis Rd. There are multiple parking options available, including a sealed car park at the western end of Bells Beach and limited parking along Pt Addis Rd. Visitors should adhere to parking restrictions.

Facilities are available at Bells Beach, approximately 300 metres away from the Southside car park and 200 metres from the access steps on Pt Addis Rd. Toilets are provided for visitors' convenience.

Visit Southside Beach for a relaxing experience in a natural coastal setting.
