Description
Since 1932, the Stahmann family has been growing pecans (pronounced p'cahn in the south of America) on their vast property in Las Cruces, New Mexico.
In 1965, Deane Stahmann Jnr took his dream to Australia, planting the first pecan trees in Gatton, Queensland and near Moree, New South Wales. His dream was realised in 1982 when the Toowoomba processing plant began producing the finest quality processed nut kernel, and Stahmann brand became entrenched in Australian supermarkets. Today, the Pecan Nut Farm has over 95,000 mature trees, harvesting 95 per cent of Australia's pecan crop mechanically from May to July.
