Stephen's Creek Reservoir

Stephen's Creek Reservoir, located approximately 17 kilometres away from Broken Hill on the Barrier Highway, has a rich history dating back to the drought days when water shortages were a constant problem for Broken Hill's inhabitants.

Nowadays, it has transformed into a beautiful recreational spot for families, offering a panoramic lookout point, a miniature garden of remembrance, and a children's playground. The reservoir also provides well-maintained picnic tables and coin-operated barbecue spots for visitors to enjoy. Stephen's Creek Reservoir is open year-round and can be enjoyed in all seasons, with summers being mild and winters offering a unique snowy landscape. To get there, visitors can take the Barrier Highway heading north and turn left onto Kintore Road newline.
