Description

Located in Moreton Bay, Tangalooma Island Resort offers a truly unique and unforgettable experience of hand feeding one of the wild bottlenose dolphins that visit the shores each evening at sunset.

Moreton Bay is home to approximately 600 bottlenose dolphins, and each evening as the sun begins to set across the water, a small pod makes their way to the shores of Tangalooma Island Resort.

Since 1992, guests of Tangalooma Island Resort have had the opportunity to hand feed the dolphins as part of the Tangalooma wild dolphin feeding program. Currently, up to 13 dolphins frequent the shores of Tangalooma each evening, hunting, surfing and playing with fellow pod members, each with their own distinctive and unique personalities. Before the feeding starts, guests are given an informative talk about the dolphins and their behavior, making this experience both educational and thrilling. A dedicated Dolphin Care Team records the dolphins’ behavior each evening, monitoring growth, behavior, and interactions.

The Tangalooma Wild Dolphin Feeding Experience is included in selected accommodation and day cruise packages from Brisbane. To get to Tangalooma Island Resort, visitors can catch a ferry from Brisbane, which takes approximately 75 minutes. Visitors can choose from a variety of tours that include transfer to and from the resort.

The Tangalooma Wild Dolphin Feeding Moreton Island is a one-of-a-kind experience, allowing guests to connect with these gentle creatures in their natural habitat. It is an unforgettable adventure that visitors of all ages will enjoy.
