Terrace Edge Vineyard & Olive Grove is a family-owned, organic winery situated on the south bank of the Waipara River in North Canterbury, New Zealand.
The winery is located on a property that was once part of a long-established sheep farm, which the Chapman family purchased in 1999. They then developed the vineyard and olive grove, which produces premium wines and extra virgin olive oil. Terrace Edge is known for its exceptional quality of grapes and olives that grow in a dramatic landscape captured in liquid form.
Wine Tastings and Tours
Visitors to Terrace Edge can take a short tour through the olive grove and Pinot Noir vines. This tour concludes with a visit to the 'roasted slope,' where Syrah vines cling to a 45-degree angle slope. The stunning surroundings are a recognisable feature of the vineyard. As a visitor, you can enjoy five wines with thoughtfully prepared creations, which allows you to experience the art of wine and food pairing in a picturesque setting. To ensure availability and a great experience, visitors must book this Wine & Food Experience beforehand. Terrace Edge also offers a standard tasting of six wines from their range. Their tasting room is open for visitors every Thursday and Friday between 11:00 am to 4:30 pm.
Menu and Outdoor Setting
Terrace Edge exudes a sophisticated yet relaxed atmosphere. Visitors will be charmed by the humble wooden sign that leads to the sleek concrete-floored, white-walled Tasting Shed.
