The hills are alive this November as the Melville Theatre Company brings the timeless musical The Sound of Music to life at the Main Hall of the Melville Civic Centre. Running from 15-30 November, this production promises to enchant audiences with its unforgettable songs, heartwarming story, and talented cast. Based on the true story of the Von Trapp family, The Sound of Music is one of the most beloved musicals of all time. Set against the backdrop of Austria on the brink of World War II, the musical follows Maria, a spirited young woman who becomes governess to the seven children of Captain Georg Von Trapp. As she brings music and joy back into their lives, Maria and the family must also navigate the growing dangers of the Nazi regime. Featuring classic songs such as ‘Do-Re-Mi’, ‘My Favourite Things,’ and ‘Climb Ev'ry Mountain,’ this heartwarming tale of love, courage, and family has captivated audiences worldwide for over 60 years.
