This and That

Kim Cleverton at Napier's Community Arts Centre, Napier

Originally from Melbourne Kim moved to Napier in 1977. She can remember that in high school she wanted to be an art teacher but life took over and she didn’t start painting unti retiring in 2019. Kim is self-taught and works in acrylics in a semi abstract style.

Predominantly focused on skies, which is what she’s known for, this exhibition also includes some florals. Painting can be frustrating and wonderful. Kim is always learning and looking to change things up.

This year she was able to participate in the 2024 Wellington Art Show which was very successful for her. It was an amazing experience meeting other artists and seeing their fantastic work and she has been fortunate enough to be accepted into the 2025 show as well.
