Description

The Three Arch Bridge, also known as the Mayfield Beach Rocky Hills, is a historical landmark located on the east coast of Tasmania.

Built in 1845 by convict labor, the bridge spans the outlet of the Old Man Creek. Although the existing road was built over it, visitors can still view the bridge by walking through a signposted track from the Mayfield Beach camping ground car park or along the beach.

The bridge is well-preserved, allowing visitors to see the structural elements underneath the road. The arches are small, requiring visitors to stoop over to walk through them. The surrounding area offers a beautiful beach and scenery, perfect for photography, walking, and enjoying the view. It is recommended to check the weather forecast and high-tide schedule before visiting.

To reach the Three Arch Bridge, travel approximately 14 kilometers south of Swansea on the east coast of Tasmania. It can be accessed by car or public transport. The Mayfield Beach camping ground car park serves as the starting point for accessing the signposted track to the bridge. The location is easily found on most GPS devices.
