Description

Located at the southern end of the Far Northern Reefs, Tijou Reef Dive Site Port Douglas is a popular diving spot in this remote region.

The reef is accessible to divers throughout the year, and it's often the first or last dive site explored on an expedition to the reef. The western side of Tijou Reef provides a sheltered environment where you can find lovely coral bommies and coral gardens, perfect for exploring in depths up to 30 metres.

One of the highlights of Tijou Reef Dive Site Port Douglas is the breathtaking coral bommies. The bommies are covered in pretty corals that are home to countless marine creatures. The schools of snapper and trevally are a sight to behold as they swim around the bommies.

At the northern tip of Tijou Reef is Shark City. This magical wall dive is where pelagic fish and sharks congregate. As you dive deeper into the water, you'll see barracuda, trevally, mackerel, tuna, grey reef sharks, and whitetip reef sharks constantly patrolling the wall. Divers often get buzzed by larger silvertip sharks, which adds to the excitement of the dive. The wall dive is the best spot to see the shark action in the area.

Tijou Reef Dive Site Port Douglas is open for divers throughout the year. During the summer months, the water temperature is much warmer, ranging from 28°C to 30°C, making it an excellent time to explore the coral gardens and bom
