The forest surrounds Griffith University and Mount Gravatt Cemetery and features breathtaking rock formations that have been 380 million years in the making.

The forest is home to a diverse range of flora and fauna, including opossums, gliders, owls, and flying foxes. It offers walking, jogging, and cycling tracks for people of all ages and abilities, making it an ideal destination for a day trip with loved ones. Additionally, there are four designated picnic areas with barbecues and seating, perfect for a family picnic in nature.

The best time to visit Toohey Forest is during the mild summer months (December to February) when the weather is perfect for outdoor activities. Spring (September to November) is also a great time to visit, as the wildflowers are in full bloom, adding vibrant colors to the forest.

Getting to Toohey Forest is easy, whether by car or public transport. It is only a 15-minute drive from the Brisbane city center via the Pacific Motorway. If using public transport, the bus stop for Toohey Forest is located on Nathan Campus Road, outside Griffith University. The 120 or 122 bus routes from the Brisbane CBD will take you there.
