Description

Twin Falls is a stunning waterfall located in Kakadu National Park, a World Heritage-listed site.

Currently closed for upgrade works, the waterfall still offers a breathtaking view to visitors, even in the dry season when it slows down to a trickle.

Visitors can spend around 2 hours exploring Twin Falls, enjoying the waterfall, trekking around the area, observing flora and fauna, and swimming in the water for a refreshing dip.

The best time to visit Twin Falls is from June to November, during the dry season when the weather is favorable and the 4WD tracks leading to the site are easier to navigate. It is advisable to go early in the morning or later in the day to avoid the heat.

To reach Twin Falls, visitors must have a high clearance 4WD with a snorkel and drive with caution on the challenging tracks. From Karnamarr, it is an 8 km drive towards Jim Jim Falls, then an additional 10 km to Twin Falls. The last part involves crossing deep water at Jim Jim Creek, requiring engagement of the 4WD. The journey from Jim Jim Falls to Twin Falls takes approximately half an hour one way.

Before entering Kakadu National Park, visitors need to purchase a park pass. It is recommended to buy the pass online before leaving home to save time when arriving at the site.
