Upper Colo Reserve

Upper Colo Reserve is a beautiful spot that offers a wilderness camping experience.

It is surrounded by Wollemi National Park, making it a perfect destination for nature-loving families. The reserve is situated beside the clear and shallow waters of Colo River, which is perfect for swimming.

Upper Colo Reserve is popular with both visitors and locals. The campsite numbers are limited, so it is recommended to make bookings in advance. If you are interested in camping, you can make a booking by contacting Hawkesbury City Council. For your convenience, basic toilets and shower facilities are available at the reserve.

The motto for the Colo Wilderness is: "Take nothing but photographs, leave nothing but footprints". Visitors are advised to take their litter with them when leaving and to be cautious when crossing the river.

To avoid disappointment, it is recommended to make an online booking before arrival as places are limited.

Due to the loss of the bridge leading to the Upper Colo Reserve campground in floods, Council has resolved to close the campground until access is restored from Upper Colo Road. The estimated time for the restoration of access is February-2023.
