Description

The Victoria State Rose Garden at Werribee Park in Werribee South is an internationally acclaimed garden spread over six acres.

It is separated from the main Werribee Mansion gardens by a heritage border featuring historical and varying roses from around the world. The garden received the World Federation of Rose Societies Award for Garden Excellence, making it the first rose garden outside of Europe to receive this honor.

In the Victoria State Rose Garden, visitors can see over 5,000 roses on display in a feature design shaped like the Tudor Rose. There are two themed displays to explore: the Federation Leaf, which is dedicated to Australian roses, and the David Austin Bud, showcasing roses of 46 cultivars. The garden pathways act as a rose stem, leading from the Tudor Rose petals to a leaf and a rosebud.

The best time to visit the rose garden is from November to April when the roses are in full bloom. During this period, visitors can appreciate the garden's beauty and see it at its most magnificent.

To reach the Victoria State Rose Garden, visitors can travel to Werribee South, which is approximately 32 km from Melbourne, Victoria. They can choose to travel by car, bus, or train from Melbourne to Werribee. From Werribee town center, it's a short drive to reach the garden on K Road.
