Description
Big Sky Libraries offers its members access to a diverse range of resources at all times through apps on its website.
The library integrates its own collections with commercial e-resource providers to provide these services free of charge to adults and children. The library is more than just books, as it offers cultural resources and serves as a social hub for local communities, particularly in rural and isolated areas.
Currently, the library has 1600 shire members, with no minimum age for joining. However, those under 18 years of age require a signature from a parent or guardian. The library staff is always happy to assist with membership applications, which take only a few minutes, and members can immediately access all the library's benefits.
Big Sky Libraries also offers a range of free programs and resources for early childhood, education, literacy, recreation, and community interest, suitable for everyone. The library's website has a "know what to read next" feature that provides book recommendations based on some basic information provided by the member.
The library provides computers with internet access and Microsoft Office, printing and scanning facilities, and free WiFi at both locations. The library encourages bulk borrowing from schools, aged care facilities, and community groups, and children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult.
