Warringine Park

Warringine Park Bittern is a hidden gem on the Mornington Peninsula, located between Hastings and Bittern.

It was declared a conservation park in 1994 and is divided into four distinct sections: Coastal, Wetland, Creek, and Woodland, each with its own special value.

The park provides opportunities for passive recreational activities and has walking tracks through the coastal and creek sections. It offers a chance to explore unique vegetation and coastal features of Western Port. The park is home to over 110 bird species, including the endangered Great Egret and Lewin's Rail.

Warringine Park is also a haven for other native fauna species, such as the threatened Swamp Skink and Southern Brown Bandicoot. The vegetation communities are diverse, including open woodland, coastal heathland, paperbark scrub, saltmarsh, and mangroves.

There are two walking tracks in the park: the Bittern coastal foreshore trail (3.7km) and the creek section (1.7km). It's ideal for walking enthusiasts, with tracks weaving through different sections of the park.

The best time to visit Warringine Park Bittern is during the cooler months between March and November, as the weather conditions are favorable for walking activities.

To access the park, take the Hastings-Bittern Road and turn onto Stony Point Road. The park is located on the eastern side of Stony Point Road, with ample parking available.
