Wells Cave Track Loop

Wells Cave Track Loop (Sugarloaf Peak) is a challenging grade 5 hike suitable for experienced bushwalkers.

It starts at the Sugarloaf Saddle Day Visitor Area and ascends 550m to Sugarloaf Peak, offering breathtaking views of the surrounding ranges, bush, and valleys. The hike includes short sections of free climbing and is not recommended for small children or those uncomfortable in high open and exposed places. Carrying backpacks is also discouraged. The track can be accessed by car via the Maroondah Highway, with limited parking available at the visitor area. Arriving early is recommended to secure a parking spot.
