Description

West End Rottnest Island is a rugged and beautiful spot located on the westernmost point of Rottnest Island.

It is known as "Koorinup" to the Whadjuk Noongar people and holds sacred significance. The area offers stunning views of the Indian Ocean and is popular for scuba diving and shore fishing. Visitors should be prepared for the elements as there is no protection from the ocean. Keep an eye out for dolphins, whales, and New Zealand Fur seals, as this is a great place to capture them in their natural habitat. The Western Walking Trail connects West End and Cathedral Rocks, providing an opportunity to stretch your legs and learn about the Nyitting story of Koorinup. The best time to visit is during the summer months between November and March. While reaching West End can be challenging, it is worth the journey. Visitors can also opt for a bus tour to explore this secluded part of Rottnest Island.
