Description
Woodman Point Regional Park is a picturesque headland located in Coogee, Western Australia.
It is surrounded by the western Indian Ocean, the Owen Anchorage, and the Jervoise Bay. The park has a historical significance, as it was named after Thomas Woodman, who accompanied Captain James Stirling on an expedition in 1827. The Woodman Point Quarantine Station, established in the 1880s, was used to isolate immigrants and is now known as Woodman Point Recreation Camp. The park offers recreational facilities such as playgrounds, jetties, and a caravan park. It also has historical sites, including a World War II prisoner-of-war camp. Woodman Point was once a popular spot for horse racing, and it is home to the Woodman Light lighthouse. The park also has a wastewater treatment plant newline.
