Description

The Yellowbelly Track Cycling Route in Northern Victoria offers a 200km cycling adventure along the tranquil Goulburn River from Echuca to Tallarook.

The route includes stunning river vistas, secluded National and Regional Parks, panoramic farmland, and small country towns with regular supplies of food and drink.

The route primarily follows river tracks, gravel roads, and quiet local sealed roads to minimize vehicle traffic, making it comfortable for cyclists of any level of experience. The route is mostly flat, and wide tires are recommended for comfort on dirt tracks and gravel roads.

Riders can enjoy beautiful river views, abundant birds and animals, and visit small country towns along the route. There are several National and Regional parks that offer free camping for bikers, as well as well-spaced commercial accommodations for overnight breaks. Cyclists can embark on the Yellowbelly Track adventure all year round, but it is recommended to avoid extreme heat and cold. The Yellowbelly Track Cycling Route can be ridden in either direction, and riders can choose to ride only some segments. Five train stations along the route provide options for access and return transfers. Riders should have experience riding unsealed roads, navigating by gpx file without internet, and riding self-supported in areas without mobile phone coverage.
