Frankston, Victoria, is home to the Frankston Arts Centre, a premier arts and performance venue that offers a variety of live theatre, music, community programs, exhibitions, and new media experiences. Established in 1995, the center features an 800-seat theatre, two exhibition gallery spaces, a function center, and a 200-seat black box theatre. The Frankston Arts Centre hosts performances by the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, Victorian Opera, Australian Opera, Bell Shakespeare Company, Melbourne International Film Festival, and Sydney Dance Company, among others.
Another notable art gallery in the area is the McClelland Sculpture Park + Gallery, located in Langwarrin within a coastal bushland setting of 16 hectares. This gallery, founded by the McClelland family, has a significant art collection of 2,700 works, including more than 100 sculptures in the park. The modernist gallery building was designed by Colin Munro and Philip Sargeant and opened in 1971. McClelland Sculpture Park + Gallery is known for its changing exhibition program focusing on modernist Australian art and contemporary spatial practice, as well as its successful commissioning of the Peninsula Link sculptures.
