The Yankalilla region in South Australia boasts several beautiful beaches and bays that provide a range of activities for visitors. Lady Bay Beach, situated between Normanville Beach and Marina St Vincent, features a rocky reef ideal for crabbing and is accessible only by 4WD. Second Valley Beach is a popular spot for swimming, jetty fishing, snorkeling, and scuba diving, offering breathtaking views of the coastline and unique geological formations. Rapid Bay, a small seaside town on the west coast of the Fleurieu Peninsula, is renowned for its steep cliffs, caves, beach, and two jetties. It is a prime location for observing leafy seadragons in the wild and is considered one of the best scuba diving sites in South Australia.
Normanville Beach, stretching 7.3 kilometers long, is centrally located with Lady Bay and the 100-meter high Yankalilla Hill forming its southern boundary. Beach 172, positioned 1 kilometer west of Parsons, features a 220-meter length and is backed by gently sloping grassy slopes and a low bluff. In addition to its picturesque beaches and bays, the Yankalilla region offers various diving opportunities, with the ex HMAS Hobart scuttled in Yankalilla Bay to create an artificial dive reef in 2002. Furthermore, the area is renowned for its excellent fishing spots, where visitors can try their hand at catching snapper, squid, shark, and tommies from rocks or the jetty.
