Horsham islands

The surrounds of Horsham, Victoria, offer a variety of natural attractions and outdoor activities for travelers to enjoy. Located on the banks of the Wimmera River, Horsham is known as the Capital of the Wimmera and is a gateway to the scenic Grampians (Gariwerd) National Park, just 30 minutes southeast of the town. Horsham itself is home to several points of interest, including the Wimmera River Walk, which takes you through wetlands, parks, and under ancient river red gums. The town also features a thriving arts scene, with the Horsham Art Gallery hosting an impressive collection of photography and contemporary art exhibitions.

A short 30-minute drive from Horsham lies the Grampians National Park, a mountainous region known for its diverse wildlife, adventure activities, and rich Indigenous history. The park is home to over 80% of Victoria's rock art sites and offers incredible views of the surrounding countryside. Travelers to the region can also explore the Wartook Valley, another scenic area located near Horsham, offering picturesque landscapes and opportunities for bushwalking and nature photography.

While not an island, Phillip Island is another popular destination in the region, offering a variety of activities such as swimming, surfing, and wildlife watching. The island is home to Australia's largest colony of fur seals at The Nobbies and the famous fairy penguins that make their epic journey along the beach at sunset.
