The Balranald Region in New South Wales offers a few museums and historical attractions that showcase the area's rich history and culture. The precinct includes three historical buildings: the Malcolm Building, the Old Balranald Gaol, and the first school in the area, the Wintong School building.
The Malcolm Building Museum holds a collection of historic photographs and local artifacts. Built in the late 1800s, it was originally owned by Malcolm and Beatty, the first Stock and Station Agents in Balranald. The Balranald Shire purchased the building in 1986 to be used by the people of Balranald as a museum.
The old Balranald Gaol is now open to visitors and offers tours relating the stories and people that were there from 1887 to the 1930s. On display are historic photographs and artifacts from the region. These attractions provide an excellent opportunity for visitors to learn about the history of the Balranald Region and experience its unique culture.
