The Esperance Museum is located in a historic railway building near the foreshore and features a diverse collection of items, including intimate curios and large railway carriages. Open from Thursday to Sunday, 1:30 pm to 4:30 pm, entry fees apply. One of the highlights is the maritime collection, with a large boat at the entrance, and a steam locomotive on the original railway tracks inside.
The museum also houses a natural history collection, showcasing items like a bull ant collection and mulga balls from sheep. Notably, it boasts the world's most comprehensive display of NASA Skylab memorabilia. Following Skylab's debris falling over Esperance in 1979, the museum now holds various parts of Skylab, along with an oversized paycheck raised by a radio host to cover the littering fine NASA never paid.
Esperance, located one-and-a-half-hour flight or an eight-hour drive south of Perth, offers attractions beyond the museum. Visitors can explore the Esperance Visitor Centre, Adventureland Park, Esperance Golf Course, Museum Village, Rotary Walk Trail, and the Cannery Arts Centre within the town.
